Our Mission
Upcycle Bikes refurbishes and donates adult bikes to provide an affordable and accessible transportation resource for financially constrained individuals.
Our bikes enhance our riders’ individual independence and their connections to community resources.
What We Do
Bikes are our operation, but we provide independence and opportunity through affordable access to community resources. We actively collect used adult bikes, refurbish them with a team of staff and volunteer mechanics, and donate them across the greater Grand Rapids community.
We distribute our bikes to those in need through many distribution partners. They know their clients best and where the need is greatest. To become an Upcycle Bikes distribution partner, click on the button below.
Support
Upcycle Bikes primarily relies on the charitable support of foundations, corporations and individuals to enable the achievement of our mission and our impact. Please consider our donation and sponsorship opportunities.
Through our social enterprise program, we sell some bikes and parts. 100% of the proceeds are used to fund our operations. Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing a bike and watch for our sales schedule.
Volunteer
We rely on volunteers for everything that we do, and we are growing rapidly. You don’t need to know how to fix a bike, either. If you love cycling or supporting members of our community, please let us know. We can use your talents.
We always need assistance fixing bikes, supporting events, sharing stories, and seeking support.

Bikes Needed
We always need used, adult bikes and bike parts. This is the core of what we do, and we couldn’t do it without your support.
Please consider donating an old bike. You’ll clean out your garage or basement and make a profound impact on someone in our community at the same time. Give that old bike a new life and a new purpose!
